Solid Fluids in the Anthropocene

In April 2016, the workshop "Solid Fluids in the Anthropocene" took place at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. The event calls to rethink the relationship between earth sciences and the humanities, paying close attention to the properties of materials that are relevant to the Anthropocene, a term recently proposed to describe our current geological epoch as marked by the influence of man in the planet.

The workshop had lectures by professors Tim Ingold (University of Aberdeen), Andrés Zarankin (Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais), Ben Alberti (Farmingham State University) and Cris Simonetti (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile).
